Mr Edmondson has over thirty five years in consultant practice and carried out more than 10,000 major heart operations.
Special interests and treatments
Mr Edmondson has a long term interest in coronary artery bypass, aortic valve, root and aorta surgery and surgery for valvular heart disease. He performs the following procedures:
- All adult cardiac surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafts and for complications of coronary disease including ventricular septel defects, ischaemic mitral regurgitation and left ventricular aneurysms
- Aortic valve, aortic root, aorta and arch replacement
- Mitral valve repair and replacement
- Tricuspid valve surgery
- Surgery for pericardardial disease and coronary artery anomalies
